WebEarth sciences is the study of the composition, structure, and history of the Earth and of the processes that operate on and within it, with emphasis on the crust, oceans, and atmosphere. The department's programs emphasize applications of physics, chemistry, and biology to understanding the Earth.
WebOur program provides you with a strong foundation in chemistry, biology, environmental engineering, fluid mechanics, hydrology, and the design of drinking water and municipal wastewater treatment systems. There are a number of required design courses, but you may still tailor your learning to fit your interests. WebMore than just numbers and formulas, mathematics is the study of structure, symmetry, and patterns, and their many applications to real-world problems. Mathematics has permeated every field of science and engineering, and plays an indispensable role in modern biology and medicine, finance, economics, sociology, and many other disciplines.
