WebAgain same issue. To solve it, I did the following in the grub prompt: typed ls and pressed enter which gave back some entries, note the one which says (hdN,msdos1) where N is some number (in my case (hd0,msdos1) ) then set root= (hd0,msdos1) and enter again (use tab-completion to make sure you don't mess up) then set prefix=/boot/grub and enter.
