The beach, once a battlefield and pilgrimage site, is now owned and looked after by the National Trust. It has plenty of amenities for somewhere that feels so secluded. Mwnt gets its name from Foel y Mwnt, the colonial hill above the beach. WebMwnt was a civil parish in its own right for several centuries, but before the 17th century it was a detached chapelry of the parish of Llangoedmor.
