WebThe optic chiasm represents a confluence of optic nerve fibers from each eye converging anteriorly and diverging posteriorly. The optic chiasm is approximately 10-20 mm in diameter transversely, 4-13 mm wide anteroposteriorly, and 3-5 mm in thickness ( Hoyt, 1969; Rizzo, 2005; Whitnall, 1932 ).
